Dreaming of a wedding surrounded by nature, where your special day becomes an unforgettable experience? The University of Latvia Recreation and Conference Centre “Ratnieki” offers a spacious and versatile setting for romantic weddings in the heart of Vidzeme, within the Gauja National Park, just about an hour’s drive from Riga. The complex is located in a picturesque countryside setting where historic architecture blends harmoniously with the beauty and tranquillity of nature.
“Ratnieki” is a unique venue for couples who wish to celebrate away from the rush and noise of the city. Six historic buildings, extensive grounds, outdoor ceremony options, and a variety of event spaces allow you to create the wedding you have always envisioned – from intimate family gatherings to large-scale celebrations. Depending on the number of guests, we can offer different venue options to suit your wedding reception.
We also ensure your guests’ comfort after the celebrations. The complex offers accommodation for up to 157 guests, allowing both the newlyweds and their guests to enjoy the festivities without worrying about travelling home. The spacious grounds, sauna with an outdoor hot tub, sports facilities, and the scenic Ratnieki Nature Trail provide the perfect setting for relaxing together on the day after the wedding.
Facilities available at the complex:
• The Great Barn – a 400 m² event venue
• The Manor House – 8 guest rooms with 22 beds, plus a small hall (100 m²) suitable for 30–40 guests
• The Stable – 15 guest rooms with 67 beds, plus a large hall (160 m²) suitable for up to 150 guests
• The White House – accommodation building with 19 guest rooms and 38 beds
• The Great Granary – ground floor tavern and dining area; two rooms on the second floor, each accommodating 15 guests
• The Sauna – terrace with an outdoor hot tub, sauna facilities, and a cozy relaxation area
