How we calculate
Wedding planners usually count two drinks in the first hour and one in every hour after that. Latvian weddings last 10 hours or more and people drink less later on, so after the fifth hour we count half a drink an hour. One drink is a glass of wine (5 per bottle), a 40 ml shot (17 per 0.7 l bottle) or a 0.5 l beer. For the toast, a glass of sparkling each. Water and ice are counted for every guest, and more juice for those who don't drink alcohol.
Plan how your guests will get home, and keep water and non-alcoholic drinks available all evening.
